Neymar’s father has admitted that the Barcelona superstar received a mega offer to leave the Camp Nou last summer.
According to Catalunya Radio, Neymar Sr disclosed this information during an ongoing trial in respect of the player’s transfer to Barcelona from Santos.
Catalan newspaper Sport relays that the club in question were reportedly willing to pay Neymar’s €190m release clause.
Neymar’s father, however, said in front of judge Jose de la Mata that his son intends to renew his contract with Barcelona, and that he will not be listening to any other offers.
We can fairly guess that the club is question here is Manchester United.
Back in August, reports emerged in Brazil that United had offered €190m for Neymar. The player himself admitted earlier in the season that United had been in contact with him over a potential transfer.
La Liga giants Real Madrid are also reportedly interested in signing the Brazilian, and club president Florentino Perez is willing to meet the aforementioned release clause.
Neymar has been in tremendous form this season, and doesn’t seem to be distracted by the off-pitch problems.
Barcelona fans will be happy to hear that Neymar doesn’t want to leave the club anytime soon, however, media will continue to speculate on his future, unless he signs a contract extension with the La Liga champions.
