This is crazy. Insane. Manchester United have reportedly submitted a world record bid of €190m for Barcelona forward Neymar.
According to Brazilian media Globo, Manchester United have made a €190m official offer for Neymar. Rub your eyes again!
Neymar apparently is open to joining Manchester United, as the Brazilian is attracted by the Old Trafford club’s rich history. The Brazilian is happy at Barcelona but the Catalan giants could be forced to do a business here given the amount United have offered, which in fact will be a record transfer should the deal go through.
It’s unbelievable that United would pay such a ridiculous sum of money for one single player. Barcelona manager Luis Enrique was asked to comment on Neymar’s future after the La Liga champions began their title defence with a 1-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday. “It doesn’t interest me to talk about rumours, nor these types of situations,” he said.
Manchester United have been used by top players to secure a lucrative contract from their respective clubs this summer. The likes of Dani Alves, Thomas Muller and Sergio Ramos, are some of the examples that come to mind.
Neymar has a contract till 2018, which means he is in line for a lucrative deal shortly that include a sizeable pay rise. Check some of the twitter reactions:
