Well, just for the confirmation, Fernando Torres is not leaving Liverpool next month. His agent has declared that the Spanish star is staying on at Anfield beyond January.
Of course, there was hardly much chance of the Spanish international striker leaving Anfield anytime soon but given Manchester City’s apparent desperation and complacency to sign any player in the world did help some papers sell their copies as they splashed reports after reports of City attempting to hijack Liverpool of their Spanish matador.
Fernando Torres’ agent Jose Antonio Martini has now proclaimed that his client is not moving anywhere. He has been quoted in The Daily Star as saying:
“Big European clubs are always asking about Torres. However, he loves it at Liverpool and is keen to get fit to fight for the title and Champions League.”
So that should be the end of the Fernando Torres-going-to-Manchester-City nonsense then. And once again Manchester City have to wake up to the rude awakening that signing Robinho from under the noses of Chelsea doesn’t necessarily imply that they can get any player in the world.
