Manchester United have agreed a £24m deal for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin. The Red Devils completed a hat-trick of transfers worth more than £50m in the space of three days, in what it turned out to be an extra ordinary week at Old Trafford.
Matteo Darmian, who earlier completed his £12.5m move from Torino, had signed a four year contract with the option of a fifth season.
According to reports from The Times, both Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin underwent medicals, to complete moves from Bayern Munich and Southampton respectively.
Louis van Gaal sees Schneiderlin as a prospective long term successor to Michael Carrick in United’s midfield. The Guardian claims the value could rise to £27m if the add ons are included.
All these players are expected to be a part of the United squad that is due to fly to Seattle ar 2.30 pm today for the first leg of the pre-season tour of USA.

Schneiderlin deal completed before the U.S. tour is a great bonus. Only signings left to make are possibly a GK, ST and a CB. Good business.

Can’t wait for Spurs on the opening day of the season. Watching Darmian, Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger make their debuts will be lovely. — Liam (@OffsideLiam) July 13, 2015
With Schweinteiger and Schneiderlin, ManU are looking scary now. We need to invest our money for the “now” instead of more youth

Schneiderlin to Man United looks like a terrific signing. Darmian, Schweinsteiger & Morgan inside the space of 48 hours. Efficient & astute.

2 years ago, the United midfield regularly relied on Anderson, Cleverley & Fletcher. Now they’ve got Herrera, Schweinsteiger & Schneiderlin. — Messi Minutes (@MessiMinutes) July 12, 2015
MUFC agree big fee for Schneiderlin after signing high-wage midfielder who started 82 league games in 4 years. There’s a kind of logic there

Good strategy by United to tie up deals before the global economy implodes and international currencies lose all value and relevance. — Nooruddean (@BeardedGenius) July 12, 2015
