With the Copa America done and dusted and Euro 2016 nearing its completion, it is time for every club to focus on the transfer market and improve their chances of doing well next season.
Although the transfer window officially opens on the 1st of July, almost every club has started working on their deals and new signings are being confirmed every day. Here at Soccerlens, in our daily transfer news roundup column, we will bring you some of the latest stories from the last 24 hours.
Wenger to meet with Lacazette’s representatives this week
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking at other options after being turned down by Jamie Vardy earlier this month.
The Gunners triggered Vardy’s release clause, but the England international refused a medical and signed a new deal with the Premier League champions Leicester City.
According to latest reports, Wenger will meet with Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette’s agent this week and will make a formal offer for the French striker.
Lacazette is a target for West Ham United as well, but the Hammers have seen two of their bids rejected for the Lyon star earlier this summer. It is understood that they have now pulled out of the race for his services.
Wenger is looking to challenge for the title next season and he is aware that he will need a top class striker for that.
Lacazette has been sensational for Lyon over the last few seasons and has scored 72 goals for the club since coming through the club’s academy in 2010.
Chelsea looking to bid for Nainggolan for the third time
Antonio Conte is determined to land the Belgian midfield target this summer and is plotting a third bid for him.
Chelsea failed with two initial bids for the Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan and the Blues are willing to try again.
Roma are thought to be holding out for a sum of 31 million pounds for the midfielder and Chelsea are now determined to sign him after his performances with Belgium in the Euros.
The 28 year old is one of the best players in Serie A right now and has already indicated that he will consider a move to Chelsea this summer.
Liverpool looking to sell Sergi Canos
Finally, Liverpool are looking to get rid of the highly talented striker Sergi Canos.
The Spaniard joined Liverpool from Barcelona’s academy a few seasons ago and will leave the club this summer after failing to agree on a new deal.
Apparently, the Reds are not willing to match his wage demands and will sell him to Bristol City.
The player was on loan at Brentford last season and had a very impressive campaign.
Canos is the third high profile academy exit this summer after Rossiter and Sinclair.
There are reports that a fee of 2.5 million pounds has been agreed for the former Barcelona star. But Liverpool have included a buy back clause in his contract.
