CHESTER 2.05
CAP FRANCAIS (system – Ian Williams, turf handicaps, last-time out winners, recent run)
Ian Williams has a fine record when brining a winning horse back to the races within nine days of that victory. In handicaps on the Flat (turf only), his record stands at 26 winners from 61 runners (42.6% strike-rate) for a profit of £29.95 to a £1 level stake at SP. CAP FRANCAIS recorded his first success for his current handler when causing a 22-1 upset at Newmarket on Saturday and can follow up.
MARKET RASEN 2.25
BASEEM (system – stable switchers, ex-Owen Burrows)
Horses who leave trainer Owen Burrows have a good record at the first time of asking for their new handlers, landing 11 of their 66 starts for a profit of £43.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. BASEEM has been well backed overnight ahead of his debut for Dr Richard Newland and looks very interesting in this maiden hurdle.

ASCOT 2.50
OMNIQUEEN (system – Amo Racing-owned newcomers)
Owners Amo Racing do well with their newcomers, scoring with 18 of the 80 qualifiers (22.5% strike-rate) for a profit of £23.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. OMNIIQUEEN’s sire and dam were both precocious juveniles and she can make a winning start to her career in this 5f fillies’ maiden.
WOLVERHAMPTON 5.56
HYPERSONICAL (system – Hugo Palmer geldings, first-time blinkers)
Trainer Hugo Palmer has an eight from 41 record when using first-time blinkers on a gelding for a profit of £34.88 to a £1 level stake at SP. On the all-weather only he’s won with seven of the 28 qualifiers (+£21.88) and HYPERSONICAL could benefit from the headgear in this 8.6f handicap.
MUSTARRID (system – Ian Williams, Flat runners in first-time cheekpieces)
In the past ten years, trainer Ian Williams has a 17 from 69 record with his Flat turf runners in first-time cheekpieces and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £51.12 to a £1 level stake at SP. MUSTARRID, the 14-1 outsider of six, could have done with softer going but likes it here and he clocked his best RPR (Racing Post Rating) on his reappearance last season.
