Gamine – Filly & Mare Sprint

Bob Baffert’s daughter of Into Mischief won this race 12 months ago so impressively when the World Championships were at Keeneland that she is all the rage for a repeat bid.
Since then, Gamine has won all four of her races. They include the Derby City Distaff at Churchill Downs and the Ballerina Handicap at Saratoga under topweight. She runs off level terms here with everything apart from three-year-old Bella Sofia, and that one needs a career best. Gamine looks a shoe-in among Breeders Cup Saturday picks here.

Kimari to show – Breeders Cup Turf Sprint
Wesley Ward is well-known for his sprinters, so it’s surprising that he has never won the Turf Sprint (3:40 EDT). The best value of those in the market may be KIMARI, a four-year-old Munnings filly who goes well fresh.
She drops back in trip from her last assignment, but proven form over further could be a plus here. Kimari’s Madison Stakes success over Bell’s The One at Keeneland ties her in with Gamine. The runner-up has since won twice in Grade 2s, so that reads well. So many claims here but Kimari may stay on past tired runners and make the show.

Despite three-year-olds winning the Maker’s Mark Filly & Mare Turf race (4:59 EDT) in three of the last five years, WAR LIKE GODDESS has a progressive profile. Hailing from the William Mott barn, this English Channel finish has gone through the grades.
That improvement culminated in success at the highest level last time out. An easy win in the Flower Bowl Stakes at Saratoga shows the serious upward curve War Like Goddess has been on. Her main transatlantic challengers, Love and last year’s winner Audarya, have been very disappointing in Europe this term, so she can capitalize on that.

Space Blues – Breeders Cup FanDuel Mile
At this stage of his career, it looks well worth trying Godolphin’s SPACE BLUES over further. Space Blues has been a real seven-furlong specialist in Europe, but always strong at the finish.
He finally gained a second Group 1 success in the Prix de la Foret in Paris last month. A son of prolific sire Dubawi assured of a future at stud himself, Space Blues handles much better ground. Going up to a mile on what might be his swansong makes sense. Space Blues is the clear pick of the transatlantic raiders here.
