Manchester United have released out-of-favour midfielder Nick Powell and goalkeeper Victor Valdes.
The pair are out of contract and will leave the club on a free transfer following Manchester United’s decision to not offer new contracts to the duo.
The Red Devils signed Nick Powell from Crewe for a reported fee of £6 million in 2012 but failed to establish himself as a regular starter during his four years at the club. The 22-year-old spent most of his time away at loan to Wigan, Leicester and most recently at Hull City, making just two appearances for the Tigers.
The English midfielder spent a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury and made only two substitute appearances against Wolfsburg and Bournemouth under Louis van Gaal this season since his return from injury in December.
Former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes, who joined the Premier League giants on a free transfer in January 2015 as a back-up for David De Gea, never made his mark at Old Trafford.
The 34-year-old enjoyed enormous success at the Catalan club, winning six La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey titles and three Champions League titles during his time in Spain but made just two appearances for Man United in 18 months.
The Spanish stopper was loaned out to Belgian side Standard Liege in January this year and was highly expected to be released by newly appointed Man United boss Jose Mourinho.
Meanwhile, young goalkeeper George Dorrington and midfielder Oliver Rathbone have also been released by the Red Devils.
