Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has demanded a written promise from Manchester United that they will appoint him as their new manager this summer.
According to The Sun (via Daily Star), Mourinho is nervous about the situation after Sir Alex Ferguson’s public backing of Louis Van Gaal and has therefore asked the Old Trafford outfit for assurances.
Mourinho has been linked with the Manchester United job for a few months now but there has been no official announcement and it seems that the Portuguese manager wants to put pen to paper now.
With the likes of Guardiola and Conte already making their moves official, Mourinho is keen to sort out his future as well.
It will be interesting to see if Manchester United offer him a written promise in near future. Mourinho won the Premier League with Chelsea last season and would definitely improve the Red Devils if he joins them.
Meanwhile, Dutch midfielder Tahith Chong has edged closer to a Manchester United move.
According to the English media, Manchester United have beaten their Premier League rivals to the signing of Chong and the deal should be made official in the next few days.
Apparently talks are at an advanced stage and the move is close to completion.
Chong is highly rated by the staff at Feyenoord and is considered as one of the finest Dutch talents of his age.
If Manchester United manage to pull it off, it will be another outstanding addition to their academy.
