Manchester United are closing in on a move for the highly-rated Dutch midfielder Tahith Chong.
Chong impressed the Manchester United scouts at Carrington during the Premier Cup last summer and the Old Trafford outfit are keen to snap him up.
Chong has claimed that he wishes to stay at Feyenoord and that is his first option. He has also confirmed Manchester United’s interest in him.
He said: “Feyenoord is and remains my first choice and we are still negotiating.”
“It’s true that Manchester United are interested in me, but I want to just stay at Feyenoord. There is absolutely no question that I’m going out to the club.”
“Feyenoord now will come up with a plan of how they see me in the coming years at the club. I am hopeful that it will be all right and that I’m going to sign a contract with Feyenoord.”
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United’s interest in the player is genuine and is getting stronger by the day. They have also reported that the Premier League giants are closing in on his signing.
Chong can play as a winger as well as an attacking midfielder and would be a tremendous addition for the Manchester United youth team. Just like Rashford, Januzaj etc, Chong also has the talent to make it to the first team in a few years.
Latest reports from the Dutch media claim that Chong is prepared to move to Manchester United and has agreed a move to Old Trafford despite interest from Arsenal.
