Leeds United are reportedly interested in Maxwel Cornet.
According to reports from The Sun, the Whites are keen on the Lyon left-back.
However, Leeds are unwilling to meet the £20 million asking price set by the French club.
Left-back is one area where Leeds are looking to bolster this summer, with the future of Gjanni Alioski still a major doubt.
Stuart Dallas can fill in at left-back, but he was mostly used in midfield last season.
Barry Douglas has not been retained, and a proper left-back is needed.
The Whites have now turned their attention towards Cornet, but it won’t be easy to lure him away.
The 24-year-old started his career as an attacker, but he has been transformed into a top-quality left-back.
He is now a major player for his Ligue 1 side, bagging four goals and six assists in all competitions last season.
The report adds that Leeds could decide to wait for the valuation to drop before making an offer.
SL View – Cornet would be a terrific signing
Bielsa loves versatile players. Cornet can also operate high up the pitch and play on both flanks.
At 24, the best years of his playing career should be ahead of him. He would add significant depth and quality to the squad.
If Leeds can get him at a knockdown price, it could be a masterstroke signing from Victor Orta.
