Cristiano Ronaldo has time and again stated his love for Manchester United and even hinted of his desire to return back to Old Trafford someday.
There were talks in the media that Ronaldo is unhappy at Madrid and that he could return back to his old club. Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal further added fuel to the fire by hinting the club’s desire to sign him, though in reality United can hardly afford to pay such astronomical fee (transfer and wages) for the Portugal skipper.
There were even reports that a cold war is brewing between Jorge Mendes and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, which added further spice to the rumours.
Mendes, however, has poured cold water to this ever growing rumour by saying that Ronaldo won’t be leaving Real Madrid any time soon, rather he will retire at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“We are talking about the best player of all time. Cristiano is impressive. He has a fantastic relationship with the president of Real Madrid. He will stay at Madrid for the rest of his career and that he is the best player of all-time and keeps getting better,” said Mendes about his client.
Mendes also adds that “Ronaldo loves Manchester United, because he has been at the club for six years, but he will stay at Real Madrid.”
That puts an end to the rumour at the moment. Ronaldo has been in sparkling form at the moment, and has scored 17 goals already this season.
