USA kick off their World Cup campaign this evening against Ghana, with the game expected to live up to the grand precedent set by some stunning games so far in Brazil.
We’ve not had a draw yet in Brazil 2014, with a number of matches perfect examples of why the beautiful game is adored by so many. Both Ghana and the USA need to keep the bar high, with Group D arguably the toughest to negotiate, with both Germany and Portugal huge asks for any international side.
Ghana Team News:
Possible XI (4-2-3-1): Kwarasey, Asamoah, Mensah, Boye, Afful, Essien, Muntari; Boateng, Ayew, Ayew, Gyan
With a win tonight, the Africans would complete a hattrick of wins over the States, having beaten them in both the 2006 and 2010 World Cups.
Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan will be gunning for blood this summer, with the former Sunderland striker to play his first World Cup game this evening since his horror late penalty miss against Luis Suarez’s Uruguay four years ago.
A well-balanced side, with both experience and young talent in abundance, the Black Stars will be no pushovers this summer.
USA Team News:
Possible XI (4-3-1-2): Howard, Johnson, Beasley, Cameron, Besler, Jones, Beckerman, Bradley, Bedoya, Dempsey, Altidore

Third time lucky for Jurgen Klinsmann’s side, with the match to be a good one, but won by very fine margins.
