Chelsea 2016-17 home kit design
The new Chelsea 2016-17 home kit follows the same template as Adidas’s other Euro 2016 home kits: the new kit comes in the club’s traditional blue colour, featuring a white v-collar with blue trim.
It has the iconic Adidas three stripes running down on both sides of the new 16-17 Chelsea home shirt. The home, away and the third kit is sponsored by Yokohama; the sponsor logo visible on the front, the ‘Tyres’ annex has in the end not been dropped, while the overall combination of blue and white colour adds a soothing visual effect.
Belgium winger Eden Hazard and England U-21 midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek revealed the Adidas 2016-17 Chelsea home kit design live on Facebook.
‘Blue is the colour,’ Hazard said. ‘It’s good, it’s new, I hope we can win some games with this shirt. Not too tight, it’s good.’

Loftus-Cheek added: ‘I like the little lions over the shirt and also the stripes on the inside rather than the outside of the arms.
The new Adidas Chelsea 2016-17 home kit shorts and socks are blue and white, respectively.
Chelsea 2016-17 home kit: Price, Availability and Reaction
The new Chelsea home shirt, available for pre-order at £90, will be debuted against Leicester City in Chelsea’s final Premier League game of the season at Stamford Bridge.
Standard replica jerseys will cost from £55 for adults and £45 for children, but for the first time Chelsea have launched the ‘Adi Zero’ version for £90.
However, should Chelsea fans want to add a player’s name and number as well as the Premier League logo on the sleeve for any new Adidas 16-17 home shirt, it will cost an extra £16.95 printing charge. Official Chelsea 16-17 shorts are priced at £25, with socks at £13.
A wave of negative reaction followed on social networking sites, with Chelsea fans slamming the decision to high pricing of the premium version of their 2016-17 kit. Stan Colleymore, former Liverpool player, has criticised the pricing of the £90 shirt, saying it is is “Absolute madness. Pure greed.”
Chelsea meanwhile have defended the cost of the shirt, saying the premium shirt is mainly for the fans who want buy the more expensive and authentic version. A club spokesman suggested that the price of the replica shirt has been in line with other leading European clubs.
