Arsenal director, Lord Harris has confirmed that Arsenal are not cash strapped and manager Arsene Wenger could spend as much as £200m this summer.
Lord Harris claimed that Arsenal are in a position to sign any player in the world apart from the likes of Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez etc, who he thinks are ‘un-buy-able’.
The Arsenal director revealed that the club has been through some tough times financially during their switch from Highbury to Emirates, but the situation is different now and that the Londoners are financial giants now.
“We could go into the market and probably buy any player in the world, apart from half a dozen who are un-buyable. In the accounts, there’s over £200million in the bank.
“At the moment there are no plans to sign anyone, unless he finds a real superstar like Mesut Ozil or Alexis Sanchez.
“If he wanted the man, he could have him. Apart from Messi and Ronaldo, he could have any player. We will probably have to break the club record to get the man he wants.”
Such claims will certainly excite Arsenal fans as their club has been heavily linked with the likes of Benzema and Reus over the last few weeks.
Wenger plans to challenge for the title this season and adding one of those two will certainly make the Gunners genuine contenders for the elusive league title.
