Sometimes I wonder how it might be like for Edinson Cavani to see his future being speculated week in week out in the media? I’m sure, he must be aware that English tabloids and websites simply adore him. Stories about him sell copies and fetch hits. He is a real asset for the English press, the Hen who lays golden egg.
The common subject about most of the reports about him is – he is unhappy at PSG. In fact, he is always unhappy. And that’s why he wants to move to Premier League, because, he will find all the medicines in England that can cure his unhappiness.
He was linked with almost all the top clubs in the world, but Arsenal are thought to be the one who are genuinely interested in him. Arsenal fans and club journalists point out that the Gunners need a defensive midfielder and a defender at the earliest, while Wenger is keen to ship forwards from the club as he feels he has an avalanche of it at disposal.
That Arsenal already have Olivier Giroud, Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck in their ranks and are looking to ship out Yaya Sanogo and Lukas Podolski still cannot prevent the tabloids from speculating that Wenger needs a striker & subsequently Cavani’s arrival at the Emirates!
[polldaddy poll=8555991]Daily Star reported recently, though not for the first time, that Arsenal will sign Cavani in the summer. The Gunners have already lodged a £50m bid for the £62m-man rated striker and the offer has been accepted. Should the deal go through, it will represent Arsenal’s record transfer signing in their illustrious rich history.
Cavani has reportedly been left out of PSG’s winter training camp, that has sparked fresh rumours of his January exit from the club. Arsenal in recent years have done few big money transfers (Mesut Ozil & Alexis Sanchez) that suggest Wenger is willing to spend money if the target is available.
We haven’t covered any story on Cavani for a while, because, we felt the same story has been regurgitated everywhere. Today, Italian news media TMW, generally good with their sources and info, has briefed the situation of Cavani where they mention, Cavani is almost certain to join the Londoners.
Cavani has strained his relationship with PSG manager Laurent Blanc and that the pair doesn’t hold any amicable terms. They claim, Arsenal can get their prime target as early in January, should they offer the right money.
