Real Madrid are considering putting in a formal bid for highly rated Sevilla full-back Alberto Moreno, who is also a reported target of Liverpool and Manchester United.
The 21-year-old has been in tremendous form this season which has attracted the attention of several European heavyweights.
Liverpool are one of the clubs thought to be interested in Moreno, who has a £25m buy-out clause in his contract. Likewise, Manchester United have shown interest in him as well, with reports suggesting that manager David Moyes had sent scouts to watch him on a few occasions.
However, according to talkSPORT, Real Madrid will step up their pursuit of the Spanish youngster, and are looking to offer around £16m to secure his signature.
Liverpool, should they qualify for Champions League football next season, can challenge Madrid for the signature of Moreno, but right now it seems like the La Liga giants are in the driving seat.
Liverpool are enjoying a terrific season under Brendan Rodgers and are seven points from leaders Chelsea with a game in hand.
The Reds will face Manchester United on Sunday and, should they get all three points, it will not only consolidate their top-four position ahead of Tottenham, but also keep them in the hunt for the title.
