According to reports in the English media, Liverpool are close to completing a £15m move for Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri in the summer. However the claims are yet to be verified as Swiss newspaper Blick had confirmed a couple of days earlier that the 22 year old might opt to stay at the Bavarian club beyond the summer.
The winger has featured in just 10 starts under Pep Guardiola this season and is believed to be frustrated with limited game time on the pitch for the Bavarian outfit.
Manchester United and Juventus have also been linked with the former Basel star but there has been nothing conclusive from the player regarding his transfer situation.
A brilliant winger who is capable of getting past defenders with his dazzling dribbling abilities, Shaqiri would seamlessly fit into Liverpool’s starting eleven who have been tactically very flexible under Brendan Rodgers in the 2013-14 season.
The Bayern star will be an integral part of the Swiss side which will feature in the World Cup under legendary manager Ottmar Hitzfeld, the latter who is desperate to do well with his impressive squad in the showpiece event.
