Velvet Elvis Grand National Odds

The 7 year-old Velvet Elvis will carry just 10st 6lbs in weight ahead of Saturday’s Aintree Grand National. Trained in Ireland by Thomas Gibney, the horse was last seen running second to Any Second Now at Navan (watch below) – a horse that is also entered for the National this weekend.

Staying the longer trip will be an unknown for Velvet Elvis, but he has won over 3m in the past. Any rain would be a plus too, with his best form coming on softer ground, yet the quicker surface may help him last out the longer distance.

He’ll be ridden by Darragh O’Keeffe and will be looking to become only the second 7 year-old Grand National winner since 1940.
