Noble Yeats was the bookies pal last year in the race the ‘once-a-year’ punters crawl out of the woodwork, as he returned a massive 50/1.
Plus, with no personal name attached to the horse – unless you’re called Noble or Yeats – then it’s fair to say not many punters, who can often latch onto a name of a horse that’s associated with them, backed the Waley-Cohen-owned hero.
The bad news for horse racing fans is that Noble Yeats is not going to be 50/1 this year. The Grand National bookmakers are taking no chances and are making him one of the betting favourites.
Noble Yeats will also have to carry 15lbs more in weight this year. In 2022 he won with 10st 10lbs, but the handicapper has given him 11st 11lbs this year.
He’ll be looking to follow the likes of Tiger Roll and Red Rum as the only back-to-back National winners since 1974.
Noble Yeats will be ridden by Sean Bowen and is number 2.
