Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew heads to Sandown’s opening Flat meeting and Perth for his two recommended bets/trades on Friday, April 26th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

SANDOWN 1.15

The bias to low-drawn runners on the 5f track at Sandown is not as strong as it was in the early years after the draw was reversed in 2011 but those berthed very high could still struggle in Friday’s opener. At the time of writing the front two in the betting – MIAHARRIS (stall 8 of 10) and SPORTS COACH (stall 7) – look to have less-than-deal post positions and I much prefer the claims of SHAGRAAN (stall 3). Silvestre De Sousa is five from ten when riding Mick Appleby stable debutants on turf (+£11.63 to a £1 level stake at SP), including two from two for those owned/part-owned by The Horse Watchers, suggesting that a sell of DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER could be a profitable angle.

Recommendation: Sell DOUBLE DRAW OF WINNER in Sandown 1.15

PERTH 3.50

GERYVILLE has been beaten by 17.5 lengths and 14 lengths in his two previous visits to Perth and the return to these tricky fences could be an issue. Micky Hammond’s eight-year-old won easily when we last saw him but that was over Carlisle’s easy fences in a field of just four runners and the second-placed horses was the hard-to-win-with Ned Tanner, who has finished second or third in five of his last six completed starts. His two other rivals were both trained by Sandy Thomson, whose runners have been stopping as if shot at business end of their races in the past six weeks. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose GERYVILLE in Perth 3.50
