Jason Weaver’s first tip on Thursday at Newmarket on Day 1 of the Boodles July Festival comes in the opening race of the afternoon in the Bahrain Trophy Stakes. The ITV Racing pundit is siding with Castle Way for trainer Charlie Appleby to win at 11/4 odds with the best horse racing betting sites.
Castle Way looked really good on his return at headquarters 69 days ago, but obviously met with a minor hiccup as he didn’t take up an engagement at the Royal Ascot meeting. The step up in distance now can prove key as he looks like a real resolute galloper and this can be another step up the ladder for him.

Lake Forest looked pretty sharp on his racecourse debut, always travelling much the best in his Haydock victory. Despite not really knowing what was required he still managed to pull a couple of lengths clear of the field.

Tajalla drops back into handicap company and most importantly, steps up an extra furlong to 6f. Considering the way he hit the line at Sandown, it’s going to be a major bonus.
