Templegate Cheltenham Festival Tips On Wednesday 15th March 2023

  • 1.30: Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle ITV4 – CHAMP KIELY @ 7/1

Has won 3 of his 4 starts over hurdles with his only defeat coming to Tuesday’s impressive Supreme Novices’ winner Marine Nationale. Grade One winner the last day at Naas and the value of the main Mullins runners.

  • 2.10: Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase ITV1 – THE REAL WHACKER (NAP) @ 6/1

CD winner at the track when winning his last two here at Prestbury Park. The last of those was on Trials Day at Cheltenham and that track experience will be a big plus again.

  • 2.50: Coral Cup Handicap Hurdle ITV1 – FIL DOR @ 12/1

Useful hurdler on his day and can go well for the Gordon Elliott yard that were on the scoresheet on day one. The yard also won this in 2016 and 12 months ago.

  • 3.30: Queen Mother Champion Chase ITV1 – EDWARDSTONE (nb) @ 6/4

Arkle winners have a good record in this race – winning 7 of the last 12 – and Edwardstone can be the latest of those to add to this stat.

  • 4.10: Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase ITV1 – DELTA WORK @ 5/4

Won this last year and despite Galvin looking a worthy challenger, this experience of the fences is a big plus and will be hard to beat again.

  • 4.50: Grand Annual Handicap Chase RTV – ANDY DUFRESNE @ 6/1

Top weight but that’s because he’s the best horse in the race. Can carry the weight and should find this drop into a handicap more to his liking.

  • 5.30: Champion Bumper RTV – A DREAM TO SHARE @ 7/2

Impressive last time at Leopardstown and been snapped up by JP McManus since. Can upset the Mullins strong-hold in the race.
