Best NFL Betting Sites Reviewed

Want to learn more about what makes the best NFL sportsbooks stand out? We’ve put together reviews of our top-rated NFL betting sites to show you why we think they’re worth your attention.

1. BetOnline – #1 NFL Betting Site in the US

BetOnline Sportsbook

BetOnline is our top-rated NFL betting site today. This sportsbook does almost everything right when it comes to NFL betting. You’ll find all regular season games and the NFL playoffs available to bet on, as well as select markets for pre-season and All-star games. BetOnline is also one of the top NFL live betting sites, providing players a chance to keep the betting action going even after the opening punt.

In addition, Betonline Sportsbook offers a huge range of ways to bet on NFL games beyond just picking the winner. You’ll find dozens of prop bets, including wagers on all your favorite players and teams. You can also set up parlays, teasers, and if bets to combine multiple prop bets or even bets on multiple games.

This high limit sportsbook also offers a wide selection of futures bets, enabling you to bet on the Super Bowl or who will be the league MVP often months in advance of the season start. Combine this with the wealth of tournaments (Pick’em, etc.) that are accessible on the platform and the football-specific bonuses, including free live/player prop wagers, and it’s easy to see why we rank BetOnline so highly.

What we like:

  • Live NFL betting and streaming
  • Offers NFL futures
  • Parlays, teasers, and if bets
  • Accepts popular cryptocurrencies

What we don’t:

  • No NFL analysis

2. MyBookie – Top NFL Sportsbook for Parlays and TeasersMyBookie Sportsbook

MyBookie is our go-to NFL betting site for assembling complex wagers like parlays, teasers, and if bets. That’s because this NFL sportsbook offers a handy bet builder tool that makes it simple to craft multi-line wagers. You can see how each bet changes your overall odds and easily adjust as you go. When you’re done, MyBookie lets you decide if you want to pay for an odds boost, which increases your chances of winning and comes with a bigger potential payout.

Like the other top NFL betting sites we reviewed, MyBookie offers everything from prop bets to live betting to futures betting. The bookie’s odds are generally right around the market average. There’s no live streaming at this bookie, but you can follow games on a virtual field if you’re not hanging out at your local sports bar at game time.

An additional perk for NFL fans is the football-related contests that run throughout the year. NFL Betting Squares is available from Week 1 through to the end of the season. The MyBookie Super Contest gives players a chance to win big by backing five teams on the spread, and NFL Survivor is a weekly knockout comp that runs on the moneyline. Further bonuses are available to claim using MyBookie promo codes.

What we like:

  • User-friendly bet builder for parlays
  • Get boosted odds on parlays, teasers, and if bets
  • NFL & NCAA contests available
  • Weekly NFL picks and tips in blog

What we don’t:

  • Doesn’t offer live streaming

3. BetNow – The Most Beginner-friendly NFL Betting Site

betnow - nfl sportsbook

BetNow continues to improve its NFL betting offering and looks a far better option this season than it did last time around. This is mostly due to an increase in the football futures markets that now feature more in-depth team and player props. Among these new options are lines for NFL specials, which bettors can use to wager on niche markets, such as O/U on the longest field goal of the season, plus teams to go unbeaten or 0-17.

Besides these new updates, things are much the same at BetNow: Players can still wager on every game of the regular- and post-seasons at competitive odds. In-play betting is still available, but the graphical display is nothing to write home about, in-house metrics are non-existent, and you might be better served elsewhere for NFL live betting, i.e., BetOnline.

NFL-related bonuses and competitions, on the other hand, are abundant at BetNow this season. Players can enter the $10,000 King of the Hill comp, enjoy ‘Free Vig November’ across the site’s entire arsenal of football betting lines, and claim small cash rebates on losses throughout the year.

What we like:

  • Live NFL betting for every game
  • Low-vig November exclusively for NFL games
  • Football tournaments and competitions
  • Excellent customer service; fast response times

What we don’t:

  • Limited NFL betting lines compared to main competitors

4. Bovada – Best NFL Betting Site for Live WageringBovada Sportsbook

Bovada Sportsbook is our top pick among NFL betting sites if you want to stream and bet on live games. This sportsbook offers a free HD-quality broadcast for bettors on its platform, so you can catch all the action from kickoff to the end of the game. Better yet, your bet slip is never more than a click away, so you can quickly and easily add wagers as each play unfolds.

We’ve found that Bovada’s odds can be less favorable than those at other NFL sportsbooks. However, this is made up for by the fact that this NFL sportsbook offers such a huge selection of wagers for every game.

You’ll find prop bets with live odds, NFL futures bets, a huge amount of alternates (especially for spread betting), and more. In fact, most regular season games have over 180 available wagers, and if you can’t find the one you want, just use What’s Ya Wager to construct your own.

What we like:

  • HD-quality streaming and live betting
  • More than 180 bets for regular season games
  • Offers NFL futures betting

What we don’t:

  • Slightly higher than average odds
  • No reload bonus offers

5. Everygame – Best NFL Sportsbook for Parlay Bettors

everygame - nfl betting lines

With over two decades of experience serving the North American gambling market, Everygame is back with some new updates, fresh bonuses, and a more pleasing desktop/mobile aesthetic in time for the 2024 NFL season.

Beginning with the platform’s NFL betting lines, things are much improved from last season. Everygame Sportsbook now offers a huge range of proposition betting markets for NFL futures for both teams and players, including regular season receiving, touchdown, rushing, and sack leaders for the latter. Odds boosts are available on select games and on parlays if you add enough legs. However, on the downside, market depth for game day wagers is still slightly lacking, the live betting suite and graphics are below par, and there are minimal stats to assist with your wagers, which is frustrating.

That said, there are still some valid reasons to join this industry stalwart: none more so than if you are the type of bettor who likes to place NFL parlay bets and claim bonuses. This is because, at Everygame, players can enter a draw to win 20x $50 free NFL bets if one leg of a 5+ leg parlay fails and win up to $1,000 if you are the weekly winner of the Parlay Prince competition.

What we like:

  • In-play NFL betting odds for every game
  • Odds boosts on NFL parlay bets
  • Quality football parlay promotions
  • College football wagers also accepted

What we don’t:

  • No on-site stats or metrics
  • Live betting interface looks dated

Guide to NFL Betting

With close to 54 million Americans NFL betting on the 2023 Super Bowl, and even more than that figure expected to wager this year, it’s time to take a look at how exactly NFL betting works. Hence, here, we cover the main terms you need to know when betting on gridiron via an online sportsbook.

NFL Betting Odds

NFL betting revolves around odds. Odds are a shorthand for how likely an event is to happen. That is, they describe how likely it is, in bookmakers’ eyes, that a certain team will win or that a quarterback will throw for more than a specific number of yards in a game.

Odds are incredibly important because they also determine your payout if your bet wins. Events that have higher odds – for example, the Patriots beating the Jets yet again – typically have lower payouts. Events with low odds, which are unlikely to happen, have bigger payouts.

The best way to understand odds is to look at an example. Say the Packers are playing the Bears, and the Packers are heavy favorites. In that case, the odds on the Packers to win might be -250. The minus sign indicates that you’re betting on the favorite, and the 250 means that you need to wager $250 to win $100 if the Packers do win (plus get your original $100 back). If you wager $500, you’ll win $200 (plus get your $500 wager back), and so on.

On the other hand, the odds on the Bears to win – the underdogs in this game – might be +150. The plus sign indicates that you’re betting on the underdog, and the 150 means that you’ll win $150 (plus your original $100 stake) if you bet $100.

Clearly, whether you’re betting on the favorite or underdog matters a lot to the risk-reward calculation of NFL betting. Different offshore sportsbooks may offer different odds for the same wager, so it can be worth shopping around for the most favorable odds.

NFL Betting Lines

Football betting lines display the markets (“spread,” for instance) and the odds (Kansas City Chiefs: -165, for example) for bets on a select team. In essence, they’re a simple way to organize all the different odds and bets that you could take on any NFL game.

As an example, you might see a table with two rows – the betting lines – and several columns representing different bets. Each row has a team, one of which is the favorite and the other the underdog, and the columns are filled in with odds.Bovada NFL Betting Lines

You can also find betting lines with just one line. These are often for prop bets on players when you’re simply betting on whether a player will throw or run more than a set number of yards. There’s no favorite or underdog in this case, although the odds are written in the same way.

NFL Betting Markets

There are dozens of different betting markets at most top football betting sites. Let’s take a closer look at some of the most popular markets:

  • Moneyline Bets: Moneyline bets are the simplest and most popular type of NFL bet. You’re simply betting on which team will win.
  • Spread Bets: Spread bets require you to wager on whether or not you think the favorite will win by more or less than a specified number of points set by the oddsmakers.
  • Over/Under Bets: Over/under bets require you to bet on whether you think the combined score of both teams will be over or under a certain number of points.
  • Correct Score Bets: Correct score bets require you to correctly guess the final score of each team. You must get the scores exactly right for this bet to win.
  • Prop Bets: Prop bets are wagers on events that don’t directly affect a game’s score. For example, you can bet on how many yards a specific player will run for or whether or not a quarterback will run for a touchdown during the game. Prop bets are available as moneyline, spread, and over/under bets depending on the wager.
  • Futures Bets: NFL futures bets are wagers on events in the distant future. For example, you can make a futures bet on which team will win the next Super Bowl or whether a player will be traded next season.
  • Parlays: Parlays are wagers that combine multiple bets. For a parlay to win, each individual bet contained in the parlay must win. So, parlays typically have bigger payouts than you could get for either bet individually.

NFL Betting Apps & Mobile Sites for iPhone & Android

While your choice of smartphone or tablet is very much a personal choice, these devices are not that different from each other anymore. The best apps for football betting will offer apps for Android and iPhone devices but you’re not going to be in a better position because you have one device over the other.

Android

You can download a mobile betting app via the Google Play store if you have an Android. However, only US-based platforms will be accessible. Offshore sportsbooks will only be available on your mobile browser, and we haven’t found a browser that hasn’t worked yet. It’s a good idea to be at least running Android 5.5 or above.

iPhone

iPhone users can download US-based apps like FanDuel from Google Play but, like Android users, they’ll have to rely on their preferred mobile browser to access offshore sportsbooks. All the operators on our list fully support Safari. Older iPhones – 8 and below – may struggle in the future as support for those devices dwindles.

Bovada NFL app iOS

Mobile Site vs App for NFL Betting

There isn’t much difference between a mobile sports betting app and a browser version. Both feature the same content, will allow you to bet on all the same events and markets, and largely look the same too.

It’s worth reminding bettors that none of the operators on our top list are “genuine” mobile sports betting apps. Rather, they are mobile-optimized webpages that can become Progressive Web Apps if preferred. We have identified the pros and cons of betting apps and betting sites below.

Mobile Betting Site

Pros:

  • No download required
  • Doesn’t use up much space
  • Works on virtually any browser
  • Supports older devices

Cons:

  • Live betting controls can be difficult
  • Input lag on older devices

Mobile Betting App

Pros:

  • Better optimization
  • Receive regular security updates
  • Regular game updates
  • Push notifications available

Cons:

  • Uses hard drive space
  • Have to download the app

NFL Betting Bonuses

One of the great things about football betting online with the best NFL sportsbook is that many online gambling sites offer bonuses for players. Depending on the sportsbook, bonuses are available for both new and returning players. Here, we’ll explain the most common types of bonus offers and explore offers from the best NFL betting sites.

Deposit Match Bonuses

The most common type of bonus you’ll find at football sportsbooks is a deposit match bonus. With this kind of offer, you can get free cash up to a certain amount. The amount of cash you receive depends on how much you deposit.BetUS Sportsbook Welcome Bonus

Take, for example, BetOnline’s 50% deposit match welcome bonus. If you deposit $1,000, the sportsbook will give you $500 in cash to bet with. If you deposit $2,000 or more, you’ll receive $1,000.

Risk-free Bets

An NFL sportsbook risk-free bet bonus allows you to place a single bet completely risk-free. Typically, you have to make the bet using your own money. If you win, you get to keep the winnings and continue on as normal. In the event of a loss, the sportsbook will refund your stake. So, you don’t lose any money.

No Deposit Bonuses

No deposit bonuses are relatively rare. With this type of bonus, all you have to do to get the bonus is to sign up for a sportsbook account. You don’t need to deposit any of your own money.

No deposit bonuses can come in the form of free cash to bet with or a risk-free bet. If you decide that a betting site isn’t the best NFL sportsbook, you’re completely free to leave after using up your bonus.

NFL Betting Bonuses Compared

Let’s take a closer look at the welcome bonus offers from the ten best NFL betting sites.

Live NFL Betting

One of the most exciting ways to bet on NFL games is to do it live during games. Live NFL sportsbooks update their odds and betting lines in response to what happens during the game. If one team scores a touchdown, for instance, its odds of winning the game might go up. You can then bet on the new odds in the same way you bet before the game.

Live football betting isn’t just exciting – it can also offer more chances to win. If you think an underdog has momentum before bookmakers realize it, for example, you can wager on odds that offer better payouts. Betting as the play unfolds means you have more information, and information is key to winning sports bets.

Each of the NFL betting sites we reviewed offers live betting.

Live Streaming at NFL Sportsbooks

Live streaming goes hand-in-hand with live football betting. That’s because live broadcasts allow you to watch the play unfold while keeping your bet slip only a click or tap away.

Currently, BetOnline and Bovada are the only 2 NFL betting sites we reviewed that offer live streaming. At other sites, you can follow along with a virtual display. Of course, you can also head to your local sports bar to watch the game and bet using a sportsbook’s mobile betting app.

Payments at NFL Sportsbooks

One important thing to consider when choosing the best NFL betting site is how a sportsbook handles payments. All of the NFL betting sites we reviewed accept debit and credit cards as well as Bitcoin. Many Bitcoin sportsbooks also accept other popular cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Ripple.

Importantly, you won’t run into any deposit or withdrawal fees at the sportsbooks we reviewed. Payout times can be as quick as minutes for crypto withdrawals at BetOnline, but most payouts take 24-48 hours.

Tips for NFL Betting

Want to wager on NFL games but not sure what bets to take? Here are our top 5 tips for new bettors to help you get started.

1. Stick to teams and players you know

The surest way to see your NFL bets pay off is to wager on teams and players you know. The more you know, the more likely you are to correctly identify when a team is on a hot streak or that a particular player can beat their assigned defenseman. That said, don’t let fandom drive your bets – bet on teams and players you really think will win rather than teams you hope will win.

2. Favorites are favorites for a reason

Betting on favorites requires you to risk more cash for less payoff for one big reason: they’re more likely to win. While bookies and sports analysts are wrong from time to time, they’re right a lot of the time. Often, it’s better to go with the prevailing odds and get a payout than to try to buck the sportsbook and take a loss.

3. Stay up to date with the latest analysis

The best way to make sure you know what you’re betting on and why is to take in as much sports analysis as you can. Follow commentary from ESPN, BetUS’s streaming service, and online betting tips sites. The more you know, the better you can decide what bets to take and what bets to avoid.

4. Avoid parlays, for now

Parlays can be a great tool for boosting your edge and earning bigger payouts. But for most beginner bettors, parlays are a losing prospect. They’re simply too complicated, and most novices end up giving the sportsbook more edge than it deserves. So, for now, stick to keeping all your bets separate from one another.

5. Shop around to get the best odds

Sportsbooks often have very similar odds for moneyline, spread, and over/under bets. But once you dive into prop bets, the odds at different NFL sportsbooks can diverge. Shop around to find the best odds. Along the way, you can even pick up a new welcome bonus to boost your betting cash.

Where Can I Bet on NFL Games Legally?

The options for where you can bet on the NFL will depend on what state you are in. Since the 2018 Supreme Court ruling that overturned the blanket ban on sports betting in the US, it is now up to state governments to determine the laws regarding sports betting. Several states have already passed laws regarding the issue.

If you live in a state that has yet to pass laws regarding online sports betting, there is no need to worry, as residents in almost every state can legally bet on the NFL using the best offshore sportsbooks.
