Constitution Hill, who is owned by Michael Buckley, ended last season with his seventh win, which came in the Aintree Hurdle over 2m4f. While prior to that success at their Grand National meeting had bolted up in the 2023 Champion Hurdle (watch below).

He’s since returned in 2023/24 to add the 2023 Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day (watch below). A race he’s won for the last two years now.

With the Constitution Hill career earnings at £731k he’ll be long odds-on to break through the £1m barrier this season as he’s expected to take in the same races that include the Champion Hurdle (Cheltenham) and Aintree Hurdle (Aintree) again.

Constitution Hill Won £253,215 When Winning The 2023 Champion Hurdle

To date, the biggest payday for Constitution Hill came in the 2023 Champion Hurdle, when he won £253,215.00 for just four minutes work.

Of those winnings, jockey Nico de Boinville would have received approximately 11% – which equates to around £24,800.

The 2023 Champion Hurdle for Constitution Hill also provided trainer Nicky Henderson with his nineth success in the race. Having won the Cheltenham race with See You Then (3 times), Punjabi, Binocular, Buveur D’Air (twice), Epatante and Constitution Hill.

Constitution Hill and Nico de Boinville are expected to be back to defend their Champion Hurdle crown in 2024. With the race the feature contest on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival.

How Much Did Constitution Hill Cost?

It was former jockey Barry Geraghty, who used to also be the number one stable jockey with Nicky Henderson, that bought Constitution Hill.

Geraghty purchased the horse as a foal for just £16,500.

And also talks about himself and his three daughters – Siofra, Orla and Rian – all riding the horse in his early years as a 3 year-old before he went to Seven Barrows.

Barry Geraghty then sold Constitution Hill for £120,000 to his current owner Michael Buckley.

When Did Constitution Hill Last Run?

When Is Constitution Hill Running Next? Entries For Henderson Star Hurdler

Constitution Hill was rumoured to be running at Trials Day at Cheltenham at the end of January 2024, but connections have since RULED THIS OUT.

Therefore, Constitution Hill will run next at the Cheltenham Festival where all eyes will be on his title defence in the Champion Hurdle on March 12th 2024.

He’ll be looking to join the likes of Honeysuckle and Buveur d’ Air as back-to-back winners of the race since 2017. He will also be hoping to give trainer Nicky Henderson a record-extending tenth Champion Hurdle win.

While after that another tilt at the Liverpool Hurdle at Aintree’s Grand National Meeting is a possible target at the end of the season. This was a race Constitution Hill also won in 2023.
