The top National Hunt horse racing action is coming at us thick and fast at the moment, with the Dublin Racing Festival 2024 being handed the baton this weekend.

We’ve two days of cracking action, many more Cheltenham Festival clues, plus with top Irish trainer Willie Mullins heading into the meeting in cracking form the Closutton handler is sure to have his normal stack of winners.

With that in mind, this is backed up with Mullins also having three of the big ‘Dublin Four’ bankers at the 2024 Festival – State Man, El Fabiolo and the current Cheltenham Gold Cup winner – Galopin Des Champs.

Add in Marine Nationale, who is trained by Barry Connell, and is a warm order in the Irish Arkle – then punters are sure to be lumping this quartet of Leopardstown bankers in an acca. So what does it pay with the best UK horse racing betting sites?

You can find out below, and we’ll also stick them all in a betslip with BetMGM so you can see the accumulative odds.

The Dublin Four: Marine National, Galopin Des Champs, El Fabiolo & State Man

Saturday 3rd February 2024

2:25 Goffs Irish Arkle Novice Chase (Grade 1) (5yo+) 2m1f RTE2: MARINE NATIONALE

The Barry Connell-trained unbeaten MARINE NATIONALE will be tasked with getting the Dublin Festival banker backers off to a flyer in the Arkle Novice Chase on Saturday.

The 7 year-old, however, is no stranger to getting the party started after winning the Cheltenham Festival curtain raiser, the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, last season.

He’s since made the switch to fences, when winning on his chasing debut at Leopardstown over Christmas – beating the useful Firm Footings by an easy 8 1/2 lengths (watch below).

Those looking to take Marine Nationale on will sway towards Gaelic Warrior, who has a been equally impressive in winning his two starts over fences and also won the Liffey Handicap Hurdle at this meeting last term. He also represents the powerful Willie Mullins yard, who has won this race for the last three years.

Win, lose or draw here for Marine Nationale, being the first big banker – then punters still have time to reload.

3:35 Paddy Power Irish Gold Cup (Grade 1) (5yo+) 3m½f ITV3: GALOPIN DES CHAMPS

Next up for the Dublin Racing Festival bankers is the current Cheltenham Gold Cup winner GALOPIN DES CHAMPS, who will be looking to defend his Irish Gold Cup crown on Saturday (watch below).

Since winning this race last season, Galopin Des Champs hit a bit of a rocky patch – losing in the Punchestown Gold Cup and returned this year to be beaten in the John Durkan Memorial Chase – both defeats came at the hands of Fastorslow, who takes him on again.

However, the key here is the track.

Whereas there are no issues with Galopin Des Champs at Leopardstown – he’s 4-from-4 over fences – there are question marks surrounding Fastorslow, where he’s yet to win (or place) from three tries at the Dublin venue.

Mullins will be looking for win number 13 in the Irish Gold Cup, with his first coming in 1999 with Florida Pearl, who went onto land two more.

Banker backers will be hoping Galopin makes it ‘lucky 13’ for Mullins in this race, which will take the Leopardstown acca bets overnight and into Sunday.

Sunday 4th February 2024

2:10 – Ladbrokes Dublin Chase (Grade 1) (5yo+) 2m1f ITV: EL FABIOLO

With the Clarence House Chase cancelled at Ascot a few weeks ago and then moved to Cheltenham last week, EL FABIOLO’s plans have been up in the air a bit. He was due to run in the original race, but connections didn’t fancy the rescheduled version at Prestbury Park.

As a result Leopardstown fans will get a chance to see last season’s Irish Arkle Chase winner (watch below) in the Dublin Chase on Sunday, where El Fabiolo is the clear top-rated in the field (172).

The 7 year-old is yet to lose over fences (5-from-5) and with his main rival Jonbon getting turned over in the Clarence House last week, his price has firmed up even more for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Willie Mullins has also won EVERY running of this Grade One – with Min (2), Chacun Pour Soi (3) and Gentleman De Mee (1), who runs again this year, his past winners.

2:45 – Chanelle Pharma Irish Champion Hurdle (Grade 1) (4yo+) 2m ITV: STATE MAN

The final piece of the Dublin Racing Festival banker’s jigsaw will come in the Irish Champion Hurdle and with another current champion – STATE MAN.

This Joe Donnelly-owned 7 year-old saw off former multiple winner Honeysuckle by 4 3/4 lengths last season (watch below) and looks to have the race at his mercy again.

He beat his main rival in the betting Impaire Et Passe by just over 3 lengths in the Matheson Hurdle here over Christmas and there is no reason to think that form won’t be upheld.

We also know he loves the Leopardstown track – winning three times here (one fall) – and it’s another race the Willie Mullins yard have a fine record in. The Closutton man has mopped up seven wins over the years, with Hurricane Fly responsible for the bulk of those with five successes between 2011 and 2015.

Should the other three Dublin Festival bankers win prior to State Man, then we can expect his odds to get even shorter on the day with the best online betting sites fearing big payouts in Ireland and the UK.
