Many may be wondering – who owns Corach Rambler? We’ve got all you need to know about the syndicate group behind Lucinda Russell’s Grand National winner and Gold Cup hope.

Who Owns Corach Rambler?

2023 Grand National winner Corach Rambler is owned by “The Ramblers” who are a small syndicate, living the dream with a superstar horse in their ownership.

Six completely different people are involved with the Corach Rambler syndicate, including a 22-year-old student at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.

He is joined by a fellow Scotsman who lives in Australia, another in London, and an accountant. The horse’s breeder also has a share as well as one other character, who is unidentified.

The syndicate formed a few years ago and Corach Rambler was purchased for £17,000, with each syndicate member putting in roughly £3000 to buy the son of Jeremy. However, the purchase nearly fell through. Trainer Lucinda Russell and assistant Peter Scudamore had to leave the sales ring, and the bidding was left to Scudamore’s youngest son Michael, who at a key moment in the buying process was getting a coffee.

Luckily though, Michael was able to get back to the auction ring in time after receiving a call from his father, and the rest is history. Now you know the answer to – who owns Corach Rambler?, read on to find out more about the gutsy 10-year-old.

Corach Rambler’s Career So Far

Connections certainly wouldn’t have expected his career to unfold as it has done so far given his fairly mediocre form in point-to-points between 2019 and 2020.

However, upon moving to Russell’s stable in, Kinross, Scotland, Corach Rambler made a winning debut at Ayr in January 2021 and “The Ramblers” started to dream.

He won then enter Class 2 company on just his second start under rules, but was tailed off. That wasn’t to worry his owners and trainer though, and he would return to shallower waters next time out and win once again.

Corach Rambler missed the 2021 Cheltenham Festival as there was no suitable races, but he would make his debut at the Festival in 2022, bolting up in the Ultima Handicap Chase.

He would then be successful in that same race again 12 months later, before a tilt at the Grand National where he was sent off as the 8/1 favourite, winning in style.
