Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew heads to Ascot and day two the Punchestown festival for his two recommended bets/trades on Wednesday, May 1st. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

ASCOT JOCKEYS

SILVESTRE DE SOUSA has been in good form since returning to these shores from Hong Kong, but Ascot has rarely been a happy hunting ground for him, as he tends to ride his mounts aggressively on a track that usually favours patient tactics. Since racing resumed after lockdown one in June 2020, SDS has won on just one of his 92 rides at Ascot for a loss of £89.50 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 7.88, A/E = 0.13). He has three rides today – ROCK HUNTER, forecast to start as the 9-4 favourite in the 1.10, ADAAY IN DEVON, the 7-2 favourite in the Racing Post tissue for the 2.50, and ALMATY STAR (forecast at 12-1 in the 3.25) – and a sell of his performance in the Spreadex ASCOT JOCKEYS market could pay dividends.

Recommendation: Sell SILVESTRE DE SOUSA in Ascot Jockeys

PUNCHESTOWN 5.25

FASTORSLOW claimed the scalp of Gold Cup winner Galopin Des Champs in this race 12 months ago and though behind his old rival at Cheltenham last month, he can reverse the form now returned to his favourite venue. Martin Brassil’s eight-year-old unseated in this year’s Cheltenham Gold Cup when still in contention and his full record at today’s venue on yielding or faster going reads 2211 (2-4). The wind operation he had before Cheltenham could yet bring about improvement and he’ll be hard to kick out of the first two places granted a clear round. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back FAST OR SLOW in Punchestown 5.25
