Racing Tips: Andrew Mount’s Spreadex Analysis – Wednesday, February 28th

Leading horse racing advisor Andrew Mount is a contributor to the Racing Post, Racing Post Weekender, Racing & Football Outlook and the GG.co.uk website. Andrew uses stats and systems to find value bets and shares his latest thoughts below.

Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew found 5-1 Catterick winner WOLFBURG on Tuesday and has two recommended bets/trades on Wednesday, February 28th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

WINCANTON 4.05

For a trainer to show a profit in handicap hurdles – some of the most competitive races in the jumps calendar – takes some doing and to do so from a sample of almost 600 runners is quite incredible. Tom Lacey has a 128 from 582 record (22% strike-rate) in these contests for a profit of £136.88 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 97.77, A/E = 1.31). TUNE IN A BOX has form figures since handicapping of 112 (2-3), with the defeat by a short head, and he’s going to prove hard to beat in this 2m5.5f Class 4 handicap hurdle, Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back TUNE IN A BOX in Wincanton 4.05

BANGOR 4.50

BIG FISH, like most of her dam’s offspring, seems best when fresh. Her two best efforts – a neck runner-up effort in an Exeter bumper and a five-length maiden hurdle success at the same venue – both came on her seasonal debuts. Emma Lavelle’s six-year-old has form figures of 547 (0-3) outside of her seasonal debuts and, with the ground slower than preferred, she looks worth opposing after a break of just 32 days. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to chance GWENNIE MAY BOY, who makes his debut for Dan Skelton.

Recommendation: Oppose BIG FISH in Bangor 4.50
