There are a number of interesting runners in the 1m New Holland Handicap at Chelmsford tonight, not least ALL ARE MINE, who has been supported overnight despite having the worst of the draw in stall 12 of 12. However, the support for Rogaer Varian’s NINE TALES on the back of a 411-day absence is persuasive. He’s been gelded since finishing less than two lengths behind the winner when last of six in a 6f Haydock handicap in September of last year and wears the cheekpieces for the first time. Owners King Power have a fine record on the all-weather with newly-gelded runners, scoring with eight of the 22 qualifiers, including three from four this year. Their three such Chelmsford runners all won (9-2, 4-1 and 2-1) and though he could be better berthed than stall 9 he still warrants support with Spreadex, either in the 50-25-10 market or the fixed odds betting.
