Racing Tips: Andrew Mount’s Spreadex Analysis – Thursday, February 29th

Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew heads to the jumps meetings at Ludlow and Taunton for his two recommended bets/trades on Thursday, February 29th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

TAUNTON 4.25

I want to oppose THE MIDWIFE in this 3m handicap hurdle as she looked flattered when coming from off the pace to deliver at the fifth attempt at Market Rasen last time. They went too hard in front in that 2m4.5f contest and the 25-1 shot, wisely given a patient ride by Joe Anderson, took full advantage of the pace collapse. Rather than sell the six-year-old in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market I’m going to nail my colours to the mast of another last time out winner – the Syd Hosie-trained RIVERS CORNER. The six-year-old was hugely impressive when upped to this trip at Wincanton last time, scoring by 23 lengths in a fast time despite racing closer to the inside rail than ideal (the ground on the inner was badly churned up). Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back RIVERS CORNER in Taunton 4.25

LUDLOW 5.24

GAME ON FOR GLORY was a big eyecatcher when runner-up to Marsh Wren at Warwick in November, doing well to finish within two lengths of the progressive winner on a track that is rarely kind to her patient running style. Lucy Wadham’s mare pulled up at Wincanton next time and, though second at Carlisle on her latest outing, clearly didn’t enjoy the right-handed track, jumping persistently out to her left. It’s surprising to see her asked to race right-handed again this afternoon and she can be sold in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose GAME ON FOR GLORY in Ludlow 5.24
