Andrew hit the crossbar on Friday with both his surviving selections finishing second, one of them by a nose, and he has four stats-based selections on Saturday, April 6th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below..

CURRAGH 1.45

CALIFORNIA DREAMER (System – Amo Racing-owned newcomers)

Racecourse debutants owned by Amo Racing, regardless of age and who trains them, have a solid record. Had we backed all 187 qualifiers blind we’d have landed 44 of our bets (21.9% strike-rate) for a profit of £34.23 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those trained in Ireland have an excellent record and CALIFORNIA DREAMER could be the answer to this fillies’ maiden if the track passes a 7.30am inspection.

UTTOXETER 2.45

MAJESTIC JAMEELA (system – Postponed, 4yo+, turf)

Uttoxeter’s meeting must also pass a 7.30 inspection and, if it does, then MAJESESTIC JAMEELA could be the answer to this 2m4f mares’ handicap hurdle. The Stuart Edmunds-trained four-year-old appreciated the soft going when scoring at Plumpton on her penultimate start and was unlucky to bump into a revitalised Politacus at Huntingdon last time. Progeny of her sire, Postponed, have a fine record on turf (Flat and jumps), with those aged four and above landing 21 of their 101 starts (prior to Friday’s racing) for a profit of £29.88.

CHELMSFORD 4.05

ROXANNE (system – Owners, The Megsons)

Horses carrying the pink colours of the Megson family have an impressive record, landing 60 of their 371 starts (16.2%) for a profit of £56.09 to a £1 level stake at SP. ROXANNE, unbeaten in three starts in Germany for Markus Klug, has Ryan Moore up on her debut for Ed Dunlop and can make a winning start for her new connections.

CHELMSFORD 6.15

BLACKLION (system Sioux Nation, small fields)

Progeny of the sire Sioux Nation have shown a strong preference for small fields and had we backed them all when facing nine or fewer rivals we’d have landed 83 of our 453 bets (18.3%) and made a profit of £73.81 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 68.21, A/E = 1.22). BLACKLION raced too freely when beaten at short odds at Newcastle last time but will be happier back at Chelmsford where he found only one too good on his penultimate start.
