Britain’s Got Talent Returns For Its 16th Series

Armed with a new judge in Bruno Tonioli, the regulars Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon are back on our screens this midweek as they search for the sixteenth Britain’s Got Talent winner, with the competition is now at the LIVE BGT Grand Final stage, which will be on Sunday night (4th June)

As normal, Ant and Dec are hosting and pulling the show together from the side of the stage as the unique acts bid to impress the four judges in search of either a vote through to the next round or even grab themselves a ‘golden buzzer’ – which will land them an automatic slot into the live semi-finals.

It seems an age ago that Paul Potts won the first ever Britain’s Got Talent show in 2007 – but who will be joining the ‘roll of honour’ winners’ list this year?

Musa Motha Is The New 2023 Britain’s Got Talent Betting Favourite

This year it seemed the judges pressed their Golden Buzzers all too quick during the auditions and as several decent performances stunned them later on in the competitions, the Britain’s Got Talent rules have gone out of the window for this series.

Judges are meant to have only one Golden Buzzer act, but newer judge Bruno Tonioli started the ball rolling by pressing the big yellow button for a second time and that led to all four judges jointly smashing it again when inspirational dancer Musa Motha took to the stage (watch below).

The uplifting dancer from South Africa stunned the quartet of judges dancing with one leg and crutches – which ended in a standing ovation from the tearful crowd.

A joint ‘Golden Buzzer’ – I’ve lost track now of how many acts for the highest award – but Musa Motha’s act also saw the bookmakers running for cover as he leapt above Malakai Boyah as the new Britain’s Got Talent betting favourite to win the 2023 show.

Musa booked his Sunday final slot earlier in the week.

It looks a three-act shootout between Musa Motha @ 8/11 and Malakai Bayoh @ 9/2, with Viggo Venn the big mover in the betting this week@ 13/5 with Paddy Power – coming in from 10/1. (odds are subject to change).

While the last semi-final on Friday saw young Irish magician Cillian O’Connor stun the audience and is now into 10/1 from 50/1 to win (watch below).

WATCH: Viggo Venn In The BGT Semi-Finals – Booking His Place In Sunday’s Final

Viggo Venn wowed the audience and the judges to book his place in Sunday’s final – with the UK bookies reacting to make the comedian the clear BGT third favourite in the betting. Can the ‘Hi-Vis’ funnyman from Norway go all the way?

Viggo Venn is also the big mover in the BGT betting market this week, having come in from 10/1 after getting through his semi-final to around 13/5 and is now challenging Musa Motha for the BGT favourites berth!

Malakai Boyoh Is The 2023 Britain’s Got Talent Betting Third Favourite

Simon Cowell said the Malakai Boyoh’s voice was “one of the best he’s ever heard”, so it was no shock that the 12 year-old singer landed Simon’s ‘Golden Buzzer’ vote on April 15th. You can see his audition below and with the golden buzzer this will slingshot Malakai Boyoh straight to the live semi-finals.

Did you know? Last year’s golden buzzer from Simon Cowell (Axel Blake) went onto win.

His performance also had the Britain’s Got Talent bookmakers running for cover as they installed Malakai Boyoh as their third favourite to win the show – behind Musa Motha.

Malakai Bayoh won his semi-final on Thursday night to book his place in Sunday’s final and despite still being fancied in the Britain’s Got Talent betting market has drifted out slightly to third favourite @ 11/2 with Paddy Power – behind Musa Motha and the well-supported Viggo Venn.

Olivia Lynes Was Amanda Holden’s Golden Buzzer Moment

11 year-old Olivia Lynes was another act to rock the 2023 Britain’s Got Talent betting market after she stunned the audience with her singing performance of ‘Defying Gravity’.

This led to a standing ovation from the crowd and also for Heart FM’s Amanda Holden to reach for her ‘Golden Buzzer’, which will now shoot Olivia Lynes straight into the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finals and after a top display in that round has made tonight’s final too. You can back Olivia Lynes @ 66/1 with Paddy Power.

Bruno Tonioli said she’s a “singing miracle”, while Simon Cowell added “she’s a perfect Golden Buzzer act”.

The Britian’s Got Talent bookmakers reacted by putting Olivia Lynes in at the top half of the Britain’s Got Talent betting, behind Musa Motha, Viggo Venn and Malakai Bayoh.

Ghetto Kids Got The Bruno Tonioli Golden Buzzer

Another act that are figuring high up the 2023 Britain’s Got Talent betting is the Ghetto Kids. This young dance act stole the hearts of the nation, as well as new judge Bruno Tonioli, who smacked his golden buzzer, which will send the exciting act straight into the LIVE semi-finals.

It didn’t all go totally to the standard BGT script though as Bruno clearly wasn’t told to wait until the act had finished to press his golden buzzer. Instead, the former Strictly judge slammed his button DURING their performance – meaning they had to continue dancing with a sea of gold confetti flying around!

Ghetto Kids are currently in the top 5 acts to win 2023 Britain’s Got Talent and secured their Sunday final slot with another top performance on Wednesday night.

They currently sit as the BGT fourth favourites @ 14/1 with Paddy Power in the betting to go all the way.

Who Won Britain’s Got Talent In 2022?

Axel Blake is the reigning Britain’s Got Talent winner after the comedian from West London won the 2022 show, which was the 15th series. He was back on the BGT stage during Thursday night’s show, when filling the gap between the semi-final acts and the voting.

Blake was also Simon Cowell’s golden buzzer act 12 months ago and went onto justify that choice in a tight final that saw him beat the other finalists – Maxwell Thorpe, Jamie Leahey, Ben Nickless, Flintz and T4ylor, Tom Ball, Eva Abley, Loren Allred, 5 Star Boys, and Aneeshwar Kunchala.

Cowell will be looking for a ‘Golden Buzzer’ double this year with Malakai Bayoh.
