This 8 year-old Irish raider was also a 6-time winner over hurdles, plus can be expected to be sharper for a recent third at Roscommon in a Grade 3 Chase. Ash Tree Meadow is another consistent Gordon Elliott runner that can go well, while Uhtred is an interesting recruit to the Dan Skelton yard.

Flaming Moon is the top-rated in the field and is feared too, while Wild Shot is another interesting Irish runner that ran well on the flat last time out.

He’s also a course winner at Prestbury Park over hurdles and returned last month with a facile 49 length win at Newton Abbot. The Henry de Bromhead-trained Champagne Gold and course winner Pull Again Green are others to have on your radar in a tight little race.

Not getting any younger at 11 and has a lot of weight here (12-1), but is back into a handicap hurdle here and has gone well fresh in the past. The consistent Hooper is a course winner from the Nicky Henderson stable that should be in the shake-up too, while the Fergal O’Brien team do well at this meeting and run Onagatheringstorm.

POWERFUL POSITION (e/w) @ 5/1 with 888Sport can give the Christian Williams yard their second win in this race in as many years. This 7 year-old was well back at Chepstow last time out but that was off a 194-day break and will be a lot fitter this time. He’s been in the top two in his last 5 races over fences and Freddie Gordon takes off a handy 5lbs. The Gordon Elliott yard have Old Town Garde in the race and can go well too, while the Ben Pauling camp have a decent hand with Anightinlambourn and On Springs.

AN MHI (e/w) @ 8/1 with 888Sport is chanced here in a NH Flat race with little form to go on. From the Gordon Elliott yard that won this race 12 months ago and has show a good level of form in Points to suggest he’s worth chancing with jockey Davy Russell riding. Henderson’s Petrossian can benefit from the first-time hood, while Twinjets have caught the eye when winning both his starts under rules for the Milton Harris yard.
