In the latest Liverpool transfer news, Real Madrid have reportedly identified Reds left-back Andy Robertson as a potential transfer target amid rumours of Ferland Mendy’s departure this summer.

According to reports, Real Madrid have added Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson to a list of potential transfer targets ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

This news comes following rumours of Ferland Mendy’s departure, with Arsenal reportedly interested in the Frenchman.

The report comes from the Daily Mail, who say that signing Robertson would require a fee well in excess of £40million.

Real have also been linked with a move for Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies. However, the Bavarians have labelled the Canadian as ‘not-for-sale’, and are looking to extend his terms at the Allianz Arena.

Robertson though, is key to Jurgen Klopp’s system on Merseyside. The Scotsman remains under contract with the six-time Champions League winners until the summer of 2026, and has shown no intention to depart.

A possible bargaining chip for Real Madrid may be that they can guarantee Champions League football for the Glaswegian, as Liverpool look set to miss out to Manchester United.

29-year-old Robertson has won Champions League, European Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, Premier League and FA Cup medals since joining the Reds from Hull back in 2017.

He is also the captain of the Scottish national team, and has amassed 62 caps for his country.

Despite a disappointing season on the whole, Robertson has made 43 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool this term.

Within those appearances, he has failed to find the back of the net, but has provided 11 assists.
