Chelsea are in pole position to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney as the 27-year-old prepares to take the next step in his career, according to exclusive odds by SportsLens.

Toney is currently out of action and serving an eight-month ban for breaching FA betting rules, which will see him return to the pitch in January 2024.

There are plenty of clubs reportedly looking to sign Toney as early as January and although he may choose to stay at Brentford when he returns from the ban, it is surely only a matter of time before the Englishman takes a step away from the Bees.

Football betting sites have released odds ahead of his return to the Premier League and beyond.

Toney Next Club Odds: Will Chelsea Look To The Transfer Market Yet Again To Solve Their Problems?

Europe’s top clubs will be on red alert next summer as Ivan Toney is expected to seek a move away from Brentford and take the next step in his career.

The lethal striker has been asked which clubs he’d be interested in joining if he ever decided to leave the Bees, to which he replied with boyhood club Liverpool (12/1) but also praised Arsenal’s (2/1) style of play and passionate fanbase.

However it is Chelsea who have been priced as favourites (6/4) to sign Toney in our exclusive odds, as the Blues could be forced to yet again look to the transfer market to solve their issues within the club.

Since Todd Boehly took named himself chairman of the London side in 2021, his club has surpassed the £1 billion mark in the transfer market with little success coming out of the spending.

The Blues have struggled in front of goal this season with 21 goals in 12 games and although they seem to have turned a corner recently with some good results, they still lack a consistent goalscorer in their squad.

Whoever signs Toney will be acquiring one of the Premier League’s top frontmen, who placed his name amongst some of the very best by scoring 20 goals in the previous campaign – bettered by only Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.

Manchester United (9/1) look set with Rasmus Hojlund as their man up top, whilst Newcastle (16/1) seem content with Alexander Isak, so those options are seen as less likely at this point in time.

Arsenal are juggling with the young and inexperienced Eddie Nketiah alongside the injury prone Gabriel Jesus and are favoured to be the 27-year-old’s next destination with Mikel Arteta rumoured to be a huge fan.
