The first of Calvin’s York tips on Wednesday is Aidan O’Brien’s EDWARDIAN. Calvin believes this No Nay Never colt is the one to back after he impressed in a 5f maiden at Naas last time out picking up his first win. Edwardian actually hit 16.5 in running on the exchange during that win, eventually succeeding at 4/6 on the day.
He might not be at the top of the O’Brien pecking order, but he showed plenty of promise with that win, storming home in scintillating fashion. This step up in trip could turn out a positive as he looked to have a lot more left in the tank at Naas. It will be the first time he encounters fast ground, but O’Brien said he is a very good mover indicating he will appreciate these quicker conditions.

To finish off the Tony Calvin York tips on Wednesday, the Betfair expert is backing THEMAXWECAN in the staying handicap at 4:10pm.
Calvin is going for an outside shot in this stayers contest, but this is a horse that will certainly appreciate the drying conditions. Charlie Johnston’s seven-year-old has his best form on good to firm, and that was the surface on his last win back in August last year at Ascot.
He certainly hasn’t appreciated the poor weather thus far this summer, and is bound to give his one a good effort on ground he cherishes. Themaxwecan was seventh in this race in 2021, and he ran well off a mark of 7lb higher and Calvin believes he is a solid each-way play.
