UTTOXETER 3.35

VAL DANCER (system – Mel Rowley, handicaps)

Mel Rowley has a great recent record with her handicappers, scoring with 19 of the 105 runners since the beginning of last year for a profit of £47.30 to a £1 level stale at SP. VAL DANCER is on a four-timer after wins in the mud at Leicester, Wetherby and Catterick since the cheekpieces were fitted and can be supported again.

NEWCASTLE 3.47

HERITIER DE SIVOLA (system – Phil Kirby, very recent run)

Phil Kirby has a solid record with runners returning to the track between one and six days since their latest outing, scoring with 31 of the 121 qualifiers since 2010 for a profit of £21.59. Those who finished in the top three last time out were 23 from 52 (44.2%) for a profit of £33.09. HERITIER DE SIVOLA, who bolted up at Hexham 48 hours ago, can follow up.

UTTOXETER 4.10

CARBON KING (system – Malinas, 2m4f+, soft or heavy going)

Progeny of the sire Malinas appreciate a test of stamina and backing them over 2m4f+ on soft or heavy going would have found 78 winners from 424 bets (18.4% strike-rate) for a profit of £57.16 to a £1 level stake at SP. CARBON KING has pulled up the last twice bit drops markedly in class here and will hopefully bounce back to the sort of form that saw him win on heavy ground at Ffos Las in December.

NEWCASTLE 4.57

TYPHOON FLYER (system – Dr Richard Newland, third run in a bumper)

The stable of Dr Richard Newland & Jamie Sole does well with runners having their third start in a bumper and stable debutant TYPHOON FLYER could be worth a punt. They’ve only had 15 runners qualify on this angle and six won (+£20.13).

SOUTHWELL 5.15

MEASURED MOMENTS (system – Time Test, 1m+, Tapeta)

Progeny of the sire Time Test are 16 from 91 when racing over 1m or further on Tapeta and backing them blind would have returned a huge profit of £227.45 to a £1 level stake at SP. MEASURED MOMENTS has form figures in handicaps on Tapeta of 1122 (2-4), with the latest defeat by just a neck and John Butler’s five-year-old will appreciate the return to this surface after last month’s Kempton third.
