Andrew heads the jumps season finale at Sandown, Leicester and Doncaster for his three recommended bets/trades on Saturday, April 27th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

SANDOWN 1.50

There’s an interesting stat associated with the 2m Novices’ Championship Handicap Hurdle – all five previous winners had won their prep race and backing all 31 qualifiers would have made a small profit at SP as well as finding the 1-2-3 on more than one occasion. Those who were beaten in their prep race were 0-45. SECRET SQUIRREL won well at Taunton last time to take his jumps record in the spring to 111 (3-3) and looks the obvious one from today’s five qualifiers. Buy at 15 in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price (5-1 at the time of writing).

Recommendation: Back SECRET SQUIRREL in Sandown 1.50

LEICESTER 2.05

Low draws dominated in the Balmoral Handicap at Ascot on Champions Day, with the first seven home drawn 3, 4, 1, 6, 2, 8, and 7 of 20 (non-runner adjusted). The William Haggas-trained AL MUBHIR (stall 20) emerged clear best of the quartet to race on the near side and finished a solid third in a French Listed race next time. His subsequent Kempton defeat can be attributed to the unsuitability of first-time cheekpieces (left off today) and he looks interesting now back on turf in a race he won last year when the even-money favourite. He’s 7lb higher in the handicap and lacks a recent run this time but has been gelded over the winter and that could bring about improvement. He won first time out in 2021 and his likely to be prominent in a race that could be run at a steady pace. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price (11-4 at the time of writing).

Recommendation: Back AL MUBHIR in Leicester 2.05

DONCASTER 6.40

LETHAL NYMPH could only finish 12th of 14 behind all-the-way winner Tees Spirit at Newmarket’s Craven meeting last time but the tailwind made the track even more of a pacesetters’ benefit than usual and he could never strike a blow from off the pace. Paul Midgley’s five-year-old had finished a solid 66-1 third at Newcastle the time before and a repeat of that should see him competitive in this 6f handicap. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price (4-1).

Recommendation: Back LETHAL NYMPH in Doncaster 6.40
