Marseille are without a win from their last seven fixtures in all competitions and were beaten 1-0 in Ligue 1 by Brest even though their opponents went down to 10 men.
The French side are now ninth in the table, sitting eight points away from the Champions League qualification places.
In contrast, Shakhtar Donetsk have not competed in a Ukrainian Premier League match since December last year and have taken part in eight friendlies since.
Many expect a tight affair as the opening leg ended in a 2-2 draw, but was not without some exciting action.
Marseille thought they had secured the win after a 90th goal from Iliman Ndiaye to make the scoreline 2-1. But there was more to come as Eguinaldo equalised in the 93rd minute for Shakhtar.

The Gabon international has scored six goals in six Europa League matches and was on target in the opening leg against Shakhtar.
From the 30th November-11th December 2023, the former Chelsea striker scored seven goals in four matches – including a Europa League hat trick against Ajax.
The goals have dried up as of late, scoring two goals in his last five appearances – however Aubameyang has contributed to 13 Ligue 1 goals this season (6G+7A).
