ITV Racing Tips From Warwick – 1-2-3 Best Bets On 13/1/24

1:49 Warwick: Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (Pertemps Hurdle Series Qualifier) (GBB Race) Cl2 (5yo+) 3m1f ITV4

SportsLens (Kyle Curran) 1-2-3 Tips: J’AI FROID has looked the force of old in his last two starts and Laura Morgan’s charge has a top chance once again here after a solid second behind Classic Concorde last time out at Chepstow. He also won his first race in over two years the start before that at Leicester, so he could be back to his best.

J’Ai Froid stayed on well to finish runner-up at the Welsh track when seen last so stepping back up to 3m1f will be no issue at all. This gutsy 11-year-old’s best form comes in testing conditions, so soft ground at Warwick should only aid his claims and he looks like a top each-way chance.

Mel Monroe is a rare runner at the Midlands track for trainer Gordon Elliott so can be involved, meanwhile Martha Brae is respected for the Skeltons having won a good race at Kempton a few weeks ago.

  • J’AI FROID @ 12/1
  • Mel Monroe
  • Martha Brae

2:24 Warwick: Trustatrader Hampton Novices’ Chase (Grade 2) (GBB Race) Cl1 (5yo+) 3m ITV4

SportsLens (Kyle Curran) 1-2-3 Tips: This is a hot little contest and the preference is for APPLE AWAY, after she blew away two rivals when getting off the mark over fences at Leicester last time out.

Lucinda Russell’s mare jumped brilliantly that day in the 31l triumph, and if she performs to that standard again she could be a tough nut to crack receiving 7lb from the boys. With the 3m trip suiting too, Apple Away is the pick in a competitive race.

Broadway Boy is on roll and has three wins from four chase starts so firmly enters calculations after back-to-back wins at Cheltenham. Also, Grey Dawning should give this another valiant effort after his second when seen last, where a mistake late on seemingly costed him the win.

  • APPLE AWAY @ 9/4
  • Broadway Boy
  • Grey Dawning

3:00 Warwick: Wigley Group Classic Handicap Chase (Premier Handicap) (GBB Race) Cl1 (5yo+) 3m5f ITV4

SportsLens (Kyle Curran) 1-2-3 Tips: FONTAINE COLLONGES improved hugely when scoring on Boxing Day at Wetherby in the Rowland by 14l and Venetia Williams’ mare looked to have plenty left in tank.

Winning so easily that day indicated that going up to 3m5f for this should bring no problems and she has a nice chance to make it five wins over fences here. She’s also versatile ground wise, so the expected testing surface should be in her favour and is the one to beat for us.

Gavin Cromwell’s charge Malina Girl was going well when falling three out last time at Cheltenham so if her confidence has not been hindered then she is likely to heavily feature. Galia Des Liteaux is highly thought of by the Skeltons and she has something to prove here after being turned over when sent off as favourite the last day. She is unbeaten at Warwick and can go well.

  • FONTAINE COLLONGES @ 15/2
  • Malina Girl
  • Galia Des Liteaux

3:35 Warwick: Unibet Veterans’ Handicap Chase (2023 Veterans’ Chase Series Final) (Class 2) (9yo+) 3m ITV4

SportsLens (Kyle Curran) 1-2-3 Tips: The final selection in our ITV Racing tips from Warwick is in the rescheduled Verteran’s Chase and GOOD BOY BOBBY may well be the answer.

Nigel Twiston-Davies’ 11-year-old has been in good form in the Veterans’ Chase Series and won legs 7&9, first at Chepstow then at Sandown when last seen in November. The son of Flemensfirth has had perfect preparation for this, and being a dual-heavy ground winner back in the day he has chances here after two recent strong performances.

Lots in the field have solid claims but Thomas Darby is feared most after his victory in the series back in November and Olly Murphy’s charge should be able to make the frame. Cyclop has been running fairly well so far this season, but needs to find more to reverse the two losses to Good Boy Bobby. However, he has a talented claimer in Ned Fox aboard who takes of 5lb so should give it a good go.

  • GOOD BOY BOBBY @ 13/2
  • Thomas Darby
  • Cyclop
