Blackburn Rovers vs Wrexham Preview and Prediction

Wrexham made their way into the fourth round of the FA Cup by beating Shrewsbury 1-0, as Thomas O’Connor found the target midway through the second-half.

Phil Parkinson’s side are second in League Two after earning promotion from the National League last season, but are coming off a poor derby day defeat to Newport.

Blackburn sit 32 places above Wrexham, taking up 17th spot in the Championship and are without a win in their last two league fixtures.

Rovers earned a place into this round with a 5-2 win over Cambridge, as Sammie Szmodics bagged a hat-trick to send his side through.

With that in mind, we expect the striker to help Blackburn once again and secure a place in round five with a narrow victory over Wrexham.

Prediction: Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Wrexham

Blackburn Rovers vs Wrexham Tips

  • Both Teams To Score @ 1/2
  • Over 3.5 Cards @ 10/13
  • Combined Odds @ 13/8

Blackburn Rovers vs Wrexham Tip One: Both Teams To Score @ 1/2

All of Balckburn’s last five matches (all competitions) have seen both teams score – including their last match in the FA Cup.

In contrast, Wrexham have only fulfilled the BTTS criteria twice in their last five matches, but have scored in 11 of the last 12.

With this in mind, Wrexham’s goal scoring record and Blackburn’s defensive issues means we expect both teams to be on target, which is a strong option due to its price of 2/1.

Blackburn Rovers vs Wrexham Tip Two: Over 3.5 Cards @ 10/13

In Wrexham’s last five matches there have been 25 yellow cards, including 10 during their derby day defeat to Newport last time out.

The hosts have received 64 yellow cards in 33 matches this season, while also picking up four red cards in the same time frame.

Upon evaluation, we expect there to be a lot of bookings in this match and could even go over 4.5 – however, we have opted for the safer option of 3.5.
