World Darts Championship Day 6 Tips

3:00pm – Ross Smith vs Niels Zonneveld: Smith To Win & Most 180s @ 1/1

Night six of the 2024 World Darts Championship kicks off with Ross Smith taking on Niels Zonneveld for a spot in the third round.

‘Smudger’ has made the third round in both of his previous attempts before being stopped by Dirk van Duijvenbode, with two 4-3 losses to ‘Aubergenius.’ He’s the 3/10 favourite to beat 5/2 outsider Zonneveld.

The Dutchman impressed when beating Darren Webster in the first round last time out with a solid 11/36 on doubles and three 180s but he’s coming up against a different calibre of player in Ross Smith.

Smith is a major champion after winning the European Championship in 2022 and he’s currently ranked 15th in the world. He loves a big checkout and should come away with victory.

8:45pm – Christian Kist vs Luke Littler: Littler To Win, Highest Checkout & Most 180s @ 6/4

World Youth Champion Luke Littler makes his tournament debut on Wednesday night against Christian Kist, entering as the 4/11 favourite to his 11/5 opponent.

Littler is one of darts’ rising stars and he’s as short as 50/1 to win the World Championship according to the best new UK betting sites. At the age of just 16, he’s earned over £40,000 in the sport.

Phil Taylor recently tipped him to become one of the greatest players of all-time. Fellow starlet and WYC finalist Gian van Veen was stunned in the first round on Monday and sent for an early exit, but even at a younger age Littler looks the more composed player.

We’re backing the Littler match treble on this one to begin what could be a dazzling career in the sport.

9:30pm – Peter Wright vs Jim Williams: Williams +1.5 Handicap @ 4/6

In the final game of the night, two-time World Champion Peter Wright takes on Jim Williams in his opening game. The betting is close, but Wright expectedly edges favouritism.

If he plays anywhere near like we know he can at his best, Williams is set for an early bath. Wright’s 2023 has been poor and he’s underprepared for the tournament due to his wife’s ill health – understandably, his priorities lie with her.

He didn’t make it out of the last 32 in the recent Grand Slam and there’s a good chance of an upset here. Wright should win, but Williams can’t be overlooked and he could take it right to the wire.

The Welshman beat James Wade last year and has the ability to compete with the big names. Williams +1/5 handicap at 4/6 rounds off the 7/1 four-fold accumulator for Day 6.
