The Premier League Returns This Weekend (Well, Friday to be Exact)

The new 2023/24 Premier League season gets going this Friday night with newly promoted Burnley entertaining the current champions Manchester City – with the added sub-plot being that former City player Vincent Kompany is now the boss of the Clarets.

There are six more games on Saturday to enjoy, with the traditional lunchtime fixture that will sees Arsenal host Nottingham Forest at the Emirates, while Villa are on the road to Newcastle in the 5:30pm offering.

Football fans will also see some history on Saturday as Luton Town will be making their first appearance in the Premier League when they make the trip to the south coast to face with Brighton.

Onto Sunday, with two more matches that include the big ‘week one’ highlight between Chelsea and Liverpool – two teams that didn’t have the best time last season so will be looking to return to form this campaign.

Did you know? ALL of the last six head-to-heads between Chelsea and Liverpool have finished in draws – with the last four all ending 0-0!

We conclude the Premier League fixtures for first weekend on Monday with Wolves, who were the lowest-scoring side in the league last season and recently waved goodbye to their manager Julen Lopetegui, making the trip to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United.
