After Frank Lampard was sacked as Everton manager on Monday, former Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa has emerged as favourite to take over at Goodison Park.

  • Lampard sacked after Everton lose to West Ham
  • Marcelo Bielsa odds-on after plenty of betting
  • Sean Dyche still in the running, drifted
  • Former Everton and England forward Wayne Rooney rumoured to be in the mix
  • Everton fighting to avoid relegation for first time since 1951.

Everton look as if they’ll be missing out on a deal for Villareal’s Arnaut Danjuma with Tottenham Hotspur looking likely to hijack the move, so the Toffee’s will be keen to get a new manager sorted as soon as possible.

After zero wins in their last ten matches, there was no other choice for the Everton board to sack Lampard.

SportsLens.com have been working around the clock, keeping up with all the latest changes in the market, and there’s been plenty of rumours flying around in the past 24 hours, with no definite for this Everton job as of yet, however, the odds are as followed:

  • Marcelo Bielsa 10/11
  • Sean Dyche 5/2
  • Sam Allardyce 7/1
  • Wayne Rooney 10/1
  • Duncan Ferguson 12/1
  • Ralph Hasenhuttl 8/1
  • Marcelino Garcia Toral 16/1
  • Nuno Espiritio Santo 16/1
  • Thomas Frank 16/1
  • Ange Postecoglu 20/1

Former Leeds United boss Bielsa has moved to favourite in the last 24 hours, and the 67-year-old has been out of work since losing his job in Yorkshire – and is said to be open to a return to the Premier League.

As for Dyche, who has drifted in the market since the Bielsa rumours heightened, he’s still one of the strong candidates for the job given his good record at keeping Burnley in the league for a number of years.

Another candidate for the job is Wayne Rooney, the former Goodison player is currently managing in America at MLS side D.C. United, and is a 10/1 outsider to take over from his former England teammate.

‘Big’ Sam Allardyce is another name in the mix, and has had some money come in for him to take over, he’s gone from 20/1 to 7/1 to make his return to management after he left West Brom in 2021. He managed the Toffee’s between 2017-2018 and could be lined up to make his comeback on the touchline.

TalkSport tweeted this below, with many who interacted believing that Dyche has a better chance at pulling Everton out of the relegation zone than Bielsa does.
