The Open Tee Times – Friday, Day 2
Heading into The 151st Open Championship second round, there are so many narratives that could play out across the three remaining days of golf at Hoylake. Not only that, but there are still so many players in with a chance of being victorious come Sunday afternoon. None more so than last week’s Scottish Open winner and four-time major champion, Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy was the pre-tournament favourite with the best golf betting sites, and is still one of the favourites to go on and lift his second Claret Jug come Sunday. After a strong -5 opening round, Merseyside native Tommy Fleetwood is also now in contention for the lead. His odds with the best sports betting apps have been slashed after his opening day 66.
The two most highly anticipated groups are McIlroy alongside Ryder Cup team-mates Jon Rahm and Justin Rose, as well as Tommy Fleetwood grouped with Scottie Scheffler and Adam Scott.
The in-form Rickie Fowler tees off at 3:10m as he plays alongside Shane Lowry and Robert MacIntyre. Patrick Cantlay is grouped with Brooks Koepka and Hideki Matsuyama (2:37pm).
In total, 156 players will be teeing it up on Friday morning and afternoon (BST) in a bid to have a strong round and successfully make the 36-hole cut.
