How Much Is A Membership To Play At Royal Queensland Golf Club?

Royal Queensland Golf Club was founded in 1920 and is one of Australia’s most prestigious courses, which achieved its Royal status a year later in 1921.

It is the home of the DP World Tour’s Fortinet Australian PGA Championship this week, which sees some of the globe’s elite tee it up in Brisbane for a slice of the A$2,000,000 prize fund.

To become a full member at the club, you would first need to pay an entrance fee of $12,500 – before an annual fee of $4,610 each year going forward.

The entrance fee can be split into payments across a number of years, but you would be looking at a minimum of $8,700 to gain membership in your first year.

You would join former Masters winner, 14-time PGA Tour champion and Australian golfing legend Adam Scott as a member at Royal Queensland GC, at the course which has hosted three Australian Opens.

According to golf betting sites, Aussie native Cameron Smith is the 4/1 favourite to win the tournament for a second successive year following triumph at this venue last November, beating Ryo Hisatsune and Jason Scrivener by three strokes.

The Australian PGA Championship has been held at Royal Queensland for each of the last three editions. The tournament has also been won by an Australian on five straight occasions, with the last foreign champion being American Harold Varner III in 2016.

Smith has been crowned Australian PGA Champion three times, lifting the trophy in 2017 and 2018 respectively. He’s the hot favourite heading in with fellow countryman Min Woo Lee close behind at 7/1.
