Rory McIlroy Won the Last Open Golf Championship Played At Royal Liverpool

It was Rory McIlory that won the 2014 Open – the last one staged at Royal Liverpool.

McIlroy shot a score of -17 that year to win his first (and only to date) Open title, seeing off Rickie Fowler and Sergio Garcia by 2 shots.

Since the first Open golf Championship in 1860 the tournament has been staged at Royal Liverpool 12 times.
