When is the 2023 Open golf major will be a popular question this month? When Is The 2023 The Open?

One of the big golfing highlights of the season is this month as fans lock themselves in for the 2023 Open. The action for the 151st edition gets going on Thursday 20th July and will run through till Sunday 23rd July for the final day of play.

12 months ago, we saw Australian Cameron Smith win the famous Claret Jug at St Andrews in Scotland after scoring -20 over the four rounds and he’ll be back to defend his title. If successful, Smith will become the first ‘back-to-back’ Open golf winner since Padraig Harrington in 2007 and 2008. Smith is on offer @ 16/1 with Paddy Power.

The 2023 Open golf tournament will be held this year at Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake, Merseyside – with the first day of play on Thursday 20th July and the running over four days till Sunday 23rd July.

The Open was last staged at Royal Liverpool in 2014 when a certain Rory McIlroy won the Claret Jug after posting a score of -17, while prior to that Tiger Woods won the event at this course back in 2006 (-18).

Overall, the Open has been held at Royal Liverpool (Hoylake) 12 times over the years.
