Cameron Smith has the opportunity to emulate Tiger Woods’ famous back-to-back Open Championship victories at St Andrews and Royal Liverpool this week, holding the fourth best market odds.
In 2005, Tiger Woods won a second Open Championship – his second at St Andrews – leading wire-to-wire and finishing five shots clear of runner-up Colin Montgomorie to secure his tenth major title.
He completed a second career grand slam at age 29 and one year later at Royal Liverpool, he became a back-to-back Champion Golfer – holding off Chris DiMarco, Ernie Els, Jim Furyk and Sergio Garcia to win by two strokes.
Cameron Smith can emulate the greatest golfer of all-time by lifting the Claret Jug for a second consecutive year in Hoylake this week and golf betting sites price his chances at 16/1.
The last golfer to win the Open two years in-a-row was Irishman Padraig Harrington in 2007 and 2008.

The 29-year-old has a lot more free time on his hands since making the switch from the PGA Tour to LIV and many players in his situation have used that to their advantage.
His counterpart Brooks Koepka has displayed strong performances in each of the three majors this season, winning the PGA, finishing second at The Masters and inside the top 20 at the US Open.
The Australian himself finished tied-ninth at the PGA, fourth at the US Open and won the most recent LIV event in London. He brings the form and confidence needed to pull off an incredible feat this week on Merseyside.
He has been a big player in the majors for quite a few years now, dating back to a fourth-placed finish at the US Open in 2015 and tied-second at The Masters in 2020.
Smith told BBC Sport he was emotional after handing the Claret Jug back to the R&A on Monday, but is more confident than ever of lifting it once again this Sunday.
“I didn’t think I’d ever have to give it back, it was a sad moment, crept up on me a little bit. Once you have something as great as that you don’t want to let go of it.”
“It’ll only be a week and we’ll be drinking out of [the Claret Jug] again. Hopefully it’s another week like last year and I’m back with the trophy.”
